Thankful Tuesday

I will give thanks to the Lord according to His righteousness And will sing praise to the name of the Lord Most High.  Psalm 7:17 Truth. We can give thanks to the Lord because of His righteousness and not our own. Our ability to thank the Lord is not dependent on who we are or our circumstances but on who God is. photo credit:  *Bárbara* Cannnela  via  photopin   cc Am I Truly Grateful? Thirsty? Take a Drink

O God, You are my God;  I shall seek you earnestly; My soul thirsts for You, my flesh yearns for You, In a dry and weary land where there is no water. Psalm 63:1 photo credit:  ChantalSeiter  via  photopin   cc I Will Seek You Are you thirsty? If we call ourselves Christ followers, and claim to love Him and we have placed complete faith and trust in Him, then, at some point, we must wrestle. We must in our journey of faith come to a place where we ask ourselves, " Do I hunger and thirst for God? Do I have a desire to get to know Him better through His Word? " Increasing your thirst.  Maybe we have that thirsty feeling spiritually and quite possibly we are struggling with not feeling spiritually thirsty at all. It matters not what we feel at this moment but rather what we choose to do with the moment we have been given. Perhaps this question has crossed your mind: Am I supposed to be a doormat? I can't keep letting them do this to me in the spirit of forgiveness. You're right. Or maybe you've wondered:  How can I extend forgiveness and protect myself at the same time? This is an impossibility. Forgiveness does not seem to get any further than the balloon we see pictured below and we find ourselves "stuck." photo credit: Theodore Scott via photopin cc Still stuck on the ground? 3 Tips for your Journey to Forgiveness 1. Remember how much you have been forgiven. If you have a personal relationship with Christ, it is always important to remember how much

Forgiveness: Caught in a Cruel Net -- Part I

Everyone says forgiveness is a lovely idea, until they have something to forgive. ~C.S. Lewis Fettered.  C.S. Lewis got it right ~ we all 'know' forgiveness is a wonderful thing. We all desire forgiveness at some point in our lives but when opportunity knocks and we are in a position to forgive...life gets just a bit more difficult. We are in a situation where we likely have been wronged; we want justice. It does not matter the culture in which we are born into; there is an innate sense in each of us that signals to our hearts and our minds when we have been wronged. Lewis called this moral law (See Mere Christianity ). And, our desire for justice and restitution, suddenly overwhelms our being and we become a fettered prisoner to the acts performed and completed against us.
